Hockey has been around since early civilizations such as Rome, Scotland, Egypt and South America. The evidence shows hockey was played before Christ. It was a simple game, played on grass field with a ball and stick. In fact, it was typically called a “ball and stick game,” there were many other names for it, but that has been locked in what the Irish call “hock”.

Ice hockey as its name suggests is a team sport played on ice with players using sticks to push the puck into the opposing team’s goal. Ice hockey requires a layer of seasonal ice and reliable. This is one reason why it is very popular in the northern United States, Canada and the Nordic countries.
