Ice Hockey
Britain and France are the origin of ice hockey. The first evidence of hockey dates back 500 years. Many people believe that hockey players made some changes in field hockey, so you can play a cold and icy winter. Origin of the word hockey is perhaps the French word? Hoquet? pointing? bent stick?.
Ice hockey was introduced in North America by English sailors who arrived in Nova Scotia. At the same time, students at McGill University in Montreal has also started to play ice hockey. In due course, an ice hockey club small, with four teams, was formed in Ontario. Gradually began to grow, and soon, the clubs from different cities started playing against each other. Lord Stanley of Preston, a British governor general, has recognized the ability of these young players and teams has created a unique silver bowl to give as a reward for the best amateur hockey team of the ice. This was the beginning of the Stanley Cup.
